We first started as a voluntary organisation, and still today 70% of our workforce are volunteers. So we mean it when we say they are the lifeblood of our organisation. We couldn't do the work without them, and we are always keen to see that our volunteers enjoy the benefits of their involvement too.

Soft plastics are anything your food is wrapped in, such as chip packets, bread bags and chocolate wrappers. All soft plastics need to be clean and dry. They are then sent to various places in New Zealand, but mainly to Future Post in Waiuku to be made into fence posts.

Left Bank Cinema is on track to open in Thames April 2024. It will be a comforting and welcoming space, and visually interesting as well. There will be some armchairs, but also conventional cinema seats. All seating will be comfortable. The cinema will have a high-quality ventilation, heating and cooling system, and will include facilities for people with disabilities and hearing impairment. People will be able to purchase a glass of wine, beer, bubbles and similar; there will be a range of nice non-alcoholic drinks, tea and machine coffee, (or bring a barista one with you from a local cafe) and finger foods, ice creams and snacks. There will be a small courtyard out the back if people would like to meet there before a movie.
