Just putting this out there AGAIN as I’m still on the hunt for a farm assistant / entry-level dairy role. I do have an interview coming up, which I’m grateful for, but I’m still actively looking and keen to line something up and get back to an industry I enjoy. ABOUT ME..., Currently located in Franklin/Waikato area and working 2 days a week as an entertainer, not tied to the contract as it's only casual. I’m married, and after an 18-year break from the industry (raising my son, who’s now no longer at home), I’m motivated to get back into dairy farming. I’ve got previous experience with large herds (up to 2000 cows on a 4000-cow unit) and some time with dairy goats too. I’m comfortable with milking, feeding out, spotting mastitis and lame cows, basic fencing, and running machinery along with 2 & 4 wheel motorbikes. I’m a hard worker, show up on time, and don’t mind the long days or early starts. Happy working in a team or just getting on with the job solo. My wife and I are open to relocating for the right role. She can work from home or find something local if needed, and I know the industry may have changed somewhat over the years so I'm keen to put in the work to get back up to speed. Being upfront — I’ve got some old convictions (25+ years ago), but those poor decisions of my past don't reflect who I am today. I’m focused on moving forward and just need/want the chance to prove myself.
