With little under 2 weeks to go we are gearing up for our inaugural Te Pūtake o Toi ki Hauraki with Cultural Dance & Performances by some of our local cultural identities, and art exhibition at Goldfields Shopping Centre. On Friday 20th September, followed by Black Tie Dinner and Art Auction on Saturday 21st September with live entertainment by Shades of Dark Every ticket purchased goes in the draw to win these beautiful taonga.

A fantastic day of brass banding at its finest!
Come along to hear bands from all over the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions battle it out to be the WAIBOP Champion Band for 2024.
Each band has 30 - 45 minutes to show their
technical abilities and entertaining showmanship.
Entry: $5 per person.

September Artists at Thames Art Gallery

The northern end of the gallery is featuring a collection of pottery from the Thames Pottery Group, based at the gallery
The group was formed in the 1970’s and is still running strong, with two groups meeting up on a Wednesday
The gallery has a dedicated pottery room with an electric kiln and a couple of pottery wheels, they also have available a pit fire and Raku kiln
It is always exciting to see what the pottery group produces for their exhibitions!
It will certainly showcase their diverse styles and passion for their art

A serial social entrepreneur, artist, and designer with over 30 years of experience, Annah works alongside her daughter, Sami, ensuring the succession of the Annah Stretton fashion brand. Her dedication to social justice for Māori wāhine is evident through her charity RAW, established in 2014. Working with her sister, a mental health clinician, they support high and complex recidivist wāhine inside and outside prisons. Annah is also the chair of the Waikato Women's Refuge governance board. She has received numerous national awards and co-written four books, including her latest, "Grit Before Grace," available now.
