Buying local is the best way to be environmentally friendly while supporting your local community. It helps stimulate the regional economy, creates and retains valuable jobs, supports families and strengthens community and culture.
Diamonds on Seddon (Waihi) is NOT relocating. But Paul himself is. We've made the decision to split into two separate businesses. We'll no longer be referring to 'his side' and 'her side'. Paul will be opening a new boutique store where he can solely focus on designing and creating beautiful bespoke jewellery. This is where his passion lies. He needs more quiet and fewer interruptions throughout the day to concentrate on what he does best - turning gold and diamonds into exquisite heirloom pieces just for you. Diamonds on Seddon will remain the same. Still stocking all our beautiful jewellery, watches, gifts and homewares. Jewellery repairs will be at ROXX, watch battery replacements will be done at Diamonds on Seddon (just not while you wait, it will be pick up next day). We hope for ROXX to be up and running sometime in May, and will keep you updated along the way. We're looking forward to taking you with us on our next stage of business.

This is what can happen when lithium-ion batteries aren’t used safely
Earlier this month, a crew from Mount Maunganui was called to a car fire. The crew found the cause of this fire was an iPad left in the parked car and exposed to direct sunlight. The iPad was sitting on a blanket, which caught alight when the battery exploded, starting a fire inside the car.
When lithium-ion battery powered devices are exposed to sunlight, they heat up and can cause fires like this one. Never leave your devices or batteries in direct sunlight, or where they can be exposed to heat or moisture.
Thankfully nobody was hurt in this fire, however we have attended calls where that hasn’t been the case. Please use your devices safely
The Thames Volunteer Fire Brigade are excited to let our community know about our 2025 fundraiser ..... We are going to be selling FIREWOOD. We will confirm ordering details in the coming days as we finalise these details. We will be offering a delivery service for a fee, within the Thames area and other areas may be considered.
Please help yourself to the food available in our Pātaka Kai.
You can find our pantry outside of Te Mana Tangata's orange cottage, located at 100 Pound Street. Thank you to Four Square Coromandel for their kind donation of bagged lettuce and their continued support of our foodbank and pātaka kai.
Remember; “take what you need, leave what you can!"
All our donor centres are open, as well as multiple blood drives being available. The demand for blood and plasma hasn’t gone anywhere, so if you can, we’d love to see you donating at one of our donor centres or blood drives. Become a lifesaver in 2025.
By law, appliances that contain refrigerants—like fridges, freezers, and air conditioners—need to be degassed properly before disposal.
DIY is a no-go - avoid any 'Gas-Tastrophes'. Refrigerants must be safely removed by certified contractors. Why? Because releasing just 1 kilo of heat-pump refrigerant is like burning 1000L of petrol
Bring your appliances to our Paeroa or Waihī Refuse Transfer Stations for safe degassing - for $12 per unit.
In 2025, Thames Swimming School faces new challenges as we are no longer fully funded by Council. We are reaching out to our community for support. If any businesses or local individuals would like to be part of our Club's story and contribute coaching, equipment or other needs, we would love to connect with you. Click 'Details' for further information.
Have you had a Spring cleanup and now have no idea what to do with your old electronics? We can help you by picking them up free of charge if you are in Thames, Ngatea or anywhere in between. Your old devices will be given to people in need if they are still usable in this modern day and age. Anything that doesn't meet this standard will be disassembled, separated and disposed of responsibly and securely. Please enquire by text on 020 4144 6262

Soft plastics are anything your food is wrapped in, such as chip packets, bread bags and chocolate wrappers. All soft plastics need to be clean and dry. They are then sent to various places in New Zealand, but mainly to Future Post in Waiuku to be made into fence posts.
Volunteer with St John
We simply couldn't deliver our life-changing health and community services without the support of our incredible volunteers. We first started as a voluntary organisation, and still today 70% of our workforce are volunteers. So we mean it when we say they are the lifeblood of our organisation. They're a mighty team of 8,000 amazing people doing important work in all sorts of different roles, from driving health shuttles to teaching first aid, helping in our retail stores and visiting people in care homes. We couldn't do the work without them, and we are always keen to see that our volunteers enjoy the benefits of their involvement too.

In action below working with a couple of satisfied tech users.
